Located in the Dorset town of Broadstone, less than an hours drive from our Web Design Southampton HQ, Hintons Home gave us a challenging brief – to help them redevelop their online presence, new branding, new design and moving software from Interspire Shopping Cart to Magento. The team at Hintons Home wanted to modernise the look, feel and functionality of the website and bring into focus customers using mobile devices.
After consulting with Richard, owner of Hintons Home, we were able to start the first round of the design phase with a clear understanding of Richard’s wishes and preferences for the new website identity, layout and design. From this, we designed new range of company stationery which aligned with our submitted site designs. The designs were then revised, tweaked and perfected, we then developed the theme into Magento (Coummunity) and put the project live, through continual revision it now forms the site you see today. In addition to developing the website we recommended the inclusion of a blog, allowing Richard to best communicate his years of experience and vast product range to his customer base. We also performed competitor research to establish where exactly Hintons Home fitted in the market, this allowed us to quickly focus in on where optimisation was most needed. Not only did this increase traffic to the site, it also increased sales volumes and average order values.
Ease of Use: The new Hintons Home eCommerce website is powered by Magento. It is incredibly easy to use and the Hintons administration are able to quickly and easily update their products, process transactions, add new blog articles, pages and post new content with no coding knowledge required.
Responsive: The new website had mobile device layout considerations applied from the outset which allowed us to truly optimise the site and enabled it to work beautifully on all mobile devices. All visitors, whether scrolling on a smartphone, browsing from a desktop or searching on a tablet enjoy the same streamlined, easy to use site.
